What are the effects of under- and overdosing flower food?
The composition of cut flower food is like a balanced diet for cut flowers. 

The universal products are a general diet for all cut flowers and the speciality flower foods are a diet that is fine-tuned according to the needs of a particular flower type. Cut flower research has shown that even within a flower type there can be variations. In practice, though, speciality flower foods are not always available. The ultimate goal is to provide cut flowers with the food and water as if still intact to the mother plant. 

Over- or underdosing with flower food will cause a less than optimum result. The greater the deviation, the more disappointing the result will be, sometimes even negative. It is not good for the general condition and lowers the life expectancy. Underdosing is most critical and shortens the vase life the most. Less than 80% of the recommended dosage can lead to the following deviations:

Stem discolouration
Delayed flower, leaf, form, colour and scent development
Limp petals
Limp leaf and leaf discolouration

Overdosing flower food by more than 150% of the recommended amount can lead to stem discolouration and burnt leaves. Our tip is to always to  add the right amount of flower food to the indicated amount of water by following the instructions on the back of the pack.

Lights & Bottle Flower Arrangement

Just three simple components could make a unique winter flower arrangement.
1. Set of Bottle Lights.
2. Any empty standard bottle.
3. One Bottle Clip.

We have a choice of bottle light sets to choose from or individual colours. Each colour is a set of 20 mini LED lights on a fine silver wire to insert into a standard wine bottle, overall approximately 1.9m in length.

Simply insert the string of lights into the bottle. 
Cut a small piece of floral foam to fit the Bottle Clip Cup using proportional flowers and foliage to create your arrangement, when complete simply slide the clip over the bottle.

Alternate your design with a different set of lights.

Sometimes the smallest of mechanics have the biggest impact!

The Scrolled Candle Holder, No263 (below) is only 100mm high.

Whilst the ‘S’ Stand No472B is slightly taller at 120mm.

Both are made in Great Britain and finished in a superior quality, water resistant black epoxy coating.

Whilst they will look fantastic with an autumnal or festive arrangement adding a candle will compliment them yet further. They could also be used in workshops or fundraising sales; the possibilities are endless.
